NIHL: Moralee Finals Weekend heads to Elland Road as Leeds plays host

The NIHL Championship Series is delighted to add another new venue to our rotation with Planet Ice Leeds stepping up to host the Moralee Finals Weekend for 2022.
Opening its doors in January 2020, the Elland Road rink was the 14th facility in the Planet Ice family and introduced hockey and ice sports to a new audience in West Yorkshire.
NIHL North 1’s eight teams will play two-legged quarter final ties over April 16&17 with the four eventual winners making their way to Leeds for the Finals Weekend on April 23&24.
The two semi final ties will be on Saturday April 23, with the Grand Final on Sunday April 24 to crown the Moralee Finals champions.
Fans should save the dates and look out for ticket details and event timings which will be confirmed as soon as possible.
NIHL Events manager Danny Perchard said: “It’s great to bring one of our showpiece events to a new venue, and the Leeds rink will be fantastic for our Moralee Finals Weekend.
“We saw during the Autumn Cup Final earlier this season how the rink can have an amazing atmosphere – with the great fans of the clubs in NIHL North 1 we hope to be able to recreate this all weekend and celebrate the season and crown our playoff winners in style.”
