The NIHL discipline panel have provided the following discipline update this week:

A video review was requested for the match penalty received by Jason Silverthorn of Telford Tigers (NIHL National) for checking to the head in the game between Telford Tigers and Bees on Sunday 27 November.

Following the review, the match penalty was downgraded to a minor penalty. The NIHL discipline panel determined that Silverthorn was slowing in front of the goal with his back to the netminder. The player reacted to the shot and made contact with the netminder in the head however this play did not meet the criteria for a match penalty. The team were notified of the review result on Wednesday.
