NEWS: the EIHA/Puck Stop Netminder Development Programme : Powered by Bauer

February 3, 2022

In December we announced the formation of the Puck Stop Netminder Development Programme – giving clubs the chance to borrow netminder equipment for new young aspiring goalies to try the position before investing in their own equipment.

As you will have seen on our social media earlier in the week, Bauer have supplied five sets of full protective equipment – everything except more personal items such as helmet, stick and jock – to our friends and Puck Stop and it is ready for clubs to request a loan period.

We have already had a request from a junior club having seen the pictures.

Clubs looking to borrow a set of goalie gear should in the first instance contact Matt Lloyd by email giving details of the player(s) looking to try the equipment.

Matt Lloyd said: “We are extremely grateful to Puck Stop and Bauer for their support to this scheme and we hope that our clubs will take full advantage and help a new generation of goalies start their path in this great sport.”

Puck Stop director Richard Day added: “It is great that we can support the EIHA and our new young goalies, and we are fortunate to be working with Bauer on this project, the first of its kind globally.

“They are excited by the project, as are we, and look forward to getting the gear on its way to a keen new goalie, and supporting them with their other kit needs and queries.

“Puck Stop was founded back in 1995 because as a goalie it was difficult to find equipment in the UK. That initial desire to help goalies and players alike by offering the best selection of hockey gear in the UK, with staff who love and play the game remains unchanged.”

Keep an eye on our social media as we will follow the fabulous Bauer gear across the country as the Puck Stop Netminder Development Programme gets rolling.
