The first manager recertification day took place last Saturday in Wakefield with over 100 managers in attendance.

There were a number of highlights to the day: three EIHA directors, four programme leads and the England u23 head coach all provided in depth information, sharing their knowledge and supporting the manager programme.

Further highlights included an overview from the referee section and an in-depth introduction to the safeguarding team, one of whom then went on to confirm how the manager role can impact and enhance our young athletes’ lives.

Technical Director Vicki Fidler said: “The event was about raising our minimum standards and providing managers with the tools and support they need to manage teams effectively. The support we have received for managers is amazing and I hope managers have taken away a true sense of recognition for the work they do.

“Managers matter, it’s a simple as that.”

The second manager recertification event is set for Stansted on July 23.
