NEWS: EIHA & Pixellot link up to offer free video system to junior clubs

February 10, 2022

The English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) have linked up with AI-automated video production specialists Pixellot to supply their mobile camera system Pixellot Air to its junior clubs at no cost for two years.

Teams associated with the junior club can also piggyback onto the system or purchase their own camera and tripod – all at a reduced rate.

Pixellot Air is an integrated mobile solution for video capture, review and analysis.

After a game or practice, the video will be available for coding, tagging, and annotating on the app. Pixellot Air is the ultimate sports camera for tracking and recording every play.

The EIHA board believes that by providing the system it will enhance our junior clubs’ player development, something which will be beneficial to all members in years to come.

Board director Matt Lloyd said: “Junior development is essential to the long-term sustainability and growth of our sport. In recognition of this this the EIHA board have chosen to invest in providing the Pixellot system at no cost to our junior clubs.

“This will enable clubs to have the latest technology to support the development of our junior players.

“The Board also realises that our senior clubs, including women’s and recreational teams, could benefit from access to the system and have negotiated affordable rates for them to join this scheme and realise the benefits.”

Lloyd continued: “This is just one of a number of initiatives that the EIHA have recently introduced, such as the Puck Stop Netminder Development Programme, and underpinned with the financial support from Sport England, to evolve ice hockey in England and Wales.

“The EIHA board, and our fantastic volunteers, are determined to support the growth of ice hockey in terms of player numbers, opportunities to participate at an appropriate level, and the skill levels of the players playing our great sport.”

Clubs interested in the EIHA Pixellot scheme should contact Matt Lloyd in the first instance.
