Leeds Knights lost their outright lead at the top of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division and now share a three-way tie at the top of the table after another pulsating weekend of action.

Following a 4-2 defeat to Swindon Wildcats at home on Saturday, they went on to secure victory at Planet Ice Leeds the following day against Sheffield Steeldogs, with a 5-0 win enough to keep them top of the division.

However, teams are breathing down the neck of the Knights at the top, with MK Lightning now level on points with their rivals.

Lightning recorded back-to-back wins over Bristol Pitbulls, securing a 6-0 victory on Saturday then a 6-2 win on the road on Sunday.

Hull Seahawks also sit tied on 12 points. They began their weekend with a 4-3 win over Peterborough Phantoms before losing a closely-fought contest 6-5 at Telford Tigers in overtime the next day.

Meanwhile, it was a successful weekend for a struggling Solway Sharks side who got their season heading in the right direction with a 5-2 over Raiders Ice Hockey and a 5-4 overtime victory away at Bees Ice Hockey.

Both of the sides beaten by the Sharks kicked off the weekend on Friday night, with Bees IHC winning 5-1.
