The EIHA is delighted to announce that Showcase 2023 will begin on Friday 5th May with an Under 15s Girls Showcase game at iceSheffield.

The players, who have been nominated by the England coaches, will be split across two equal teams, Team Red and Team White, and play in a full-length match.

England Under 15s Head Coach Nicky Blower believes this is another big step forward for girls’ hockey in England, as she said: “I think this event is another great step forward in the continuous development of the women’s game in the UK and strengthening the pipeline of future female players.”

“I can honestly say that I feel extremely privileged to have been asked to be part of the girls’ showcase event, and I am particularly looking forward to working alongside some of our country’s top coaches.”

The players selected for the Showcase will have a training session and then a full game, giving the coaching staff time to work with both teams prior to the game.

Showcase Lead Ben Pitchley added: “We are delighted to be able to welcome the England Girls Programme into the weekend. This is a great chance for them to show what they can do and be part of what is going to be an amazing weekend.”

We are also pleased to confirm that the Lord Mayor of Sheffield Sioned-Mair Richards will be coming to the game to perform the ceremonial puck drop to open the Showcase weekend.

Showcase 2023 will take place over the weekend of the 5th-8th May at iceSheffield.
