ENTP: Quest for Quebec Test Event for U13 Players

The EIHA is delighted to announce a plan to send two teams to compete in the 63rd Annual Pee-Wee Tournament in Quebec, Canada in February 2023.
The Head of the England National Team Programme received an invitation to attend the world-renowned Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament last month and the invitation has been under consideration for England U13 Boys and England U13 Girls teams. The EIHA has concerns over the viability of such a trip in these challenging times but having received significant expressions of interest from parents of players from within the current ENTP, it has been decided to establish if there is sufficient support for the trip by hosting a Test Event.
For many years the Quest for Quebec was annual challenge set by the EIHA Board and preparations for the Quebec Tournament would start with an initial selection camp. The EIHA’s application for tournament places has been accepted in principal and we are drawing up proposals for a return to Quebec. The first step is to establish if there is an appetite for the opportunity to participate in one of the best youth hockey tournaments in the world.
We are intending to hold the Test Event at the National Ice Centre in Nottingham on Sunday 4 December 2022. Arrangements will be confirmed as soon as possible.
The Test Event will be a mix of presentations, hockey fitness testing, on-ice evaluation, and game play. It will be similar to an England U13 Development Camp with the addition of presentations about the trip to Quebec between 7 and 20 February 2023.
The EIHA-organised trip will be for EIHA registered players born in 2010 and team staff only. Unfortunately, we cannot consider any player born before or after 2010.
Invitations are to be sent out to current eligible ENTP players by email from the ENTP U13 Management Team. The deadline for player details to be received by email is 5pm on 30 November 2022.

Starts: 08:00 till 13:00
Format: Briefing session, off-ice fitness test, on-ice test & challenge game
Numbers:
- U13 Boys = 46 players (6 netminders, 16 defence, 24 forwards) – 2010-born players only
- U13 Girls = 46 players (6 netminders, 16 defence, 24 forwards) – 2010-born players only
Fee: £70 per player
