Leeds Knights maintained their position at the top of the Planet Ice NIHL National Division after an impressive 9-1 win over MK Lighting on Sunday.

Their emphatic victory at Planet Ice Leeds came just 24 hours after their first defeat of the season away in Milton Keynes.

It was a four-point weekend for Peterborough Phantoms, who recorded back to back 3-1 wins over Telford Tigers and Raiders Ice Hockey. Those results helped them climb to second in the standings.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Steeldogs and Bristol Pitbulls locked horns twice over the weekend. Both games were won by the home team – the Pitbulls winning the first fixture 5-2 then losing to the Steeldogs 2-1 in overtime the following day.

It was another difficult weekend for Solway Sharks. whose wait for a first win of the season continues after a 4-1 defeat at home to Bees Ice Hockey on Saturday and a 5-2 loss at Telford on Sunday.

Bees IHC couldn’t make it a four-point weekend despite their win against the Sharks. The next day, they were convincingly beaten 7-0 by Hull Seahawks, who leapfrogged them in the NIHL standings.
