A four-point weekend for Leeds Knights saw them maintain top spot in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division after another busy and thrilling weekend of action.

The Knights were 4-1 winners at home to fellow high-flyers Bees Ice Hockey on Saturday, before they travelled to Scotland and overcame Solway Sharks 7-3 the following day.

MK Lightning remain hot on the heels of the Knights, however, after they also enjoyed two wins from two over the weekend.

They defeated Solway 5-2 at home before edging Telford Tigers in a five-goal affair on Sunday evening.

Elsewhere, Bees IHC lost ground at the top, despite responding to their Saturday defeat in Leeds with a 4-3 victory over Hull Seahawks.

An overtime victory at Raiders Ice Hockey on Saturday night saw Telford climb to fourth in the table, while Peterborough Phantoms moved clear of seventh-placed Sheffield Steeldogs with back-to-back wins over the weekend – the first of which came at Ice Sheffield on Saturday.

Bristol Pitbulls and Swindon Wildcats also enjoyed back-to-back meetings over the weekend, with both fixtures won convincingly by the respective home teams.
