The battle for the top spot in the Planet Ice NIHL National Division could take another twist as the action begins again this weekend.

After a weekend off, the Leeds Knights’ four-point cushion at the top of the National Division has been cut, with just a four-goal difference separating them from Milton Keynes Lightning. They host Bees IHC on Saturday, where they will be hoping to claim an important two points.

Lightning, on the other hand, could leapfrog the Knights into first position, should they win both of their games this weekend.

A double-header against Raiders IHC beckons, where they will welcome them to the Planet Ice Milton Keynes on Saturday before making the journey to Romford less than 24 hours later.

Below them, Peterborough Phantoms will look to bolster their third-placed position in the standings as they face two away trips – first to Solway Sharks on Saturday and then to fifth-placed Hull Seahawks on Sunday, which could prove to be one of the games to watch this weekend.

Meanwhile, Bristol Pitbulls will be hoping to end their seven-game winless run as they host Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday before making the journey to Slough to face Bees IHC.

On Sunday, the Steeldogs welcome Solway Sharks to the Bauer Arena, while Telford Tigers round out the weekend’s action with a home game against Swindon Wildcats.
