The Planet Ice NIHL National Division action continues this weekend, as the battle for the top spot heats up even further.

After losing one of their two fixtures last weekend, Leeds Knights’ lead at the top of the table is only secured by their superior goal difference, with Milton Keynes Lightning and Hull Seahawks hot on their tail.

The Knights will be looking to stave off the chasing pack as they face Bees Ice Hockey at home on Saturday, and then Solway Sharks away the following day.

Milton Keynes Lightning will be boosted by their performances last weekend after beating Bristol Pitbulls back-to-back with a 6-0 win at home and a 6-2 victory away. They will be hoping to pile the pressure on the Knights when they host Solway Sharks on Saturday before travelling to face Telford Tigers on Sunday.

Despite losing to the Tigers in overtime last Sunday, Hull Seahawks still find themselves within touching distance of the top spot and will be aiming to bounce back by picking up an important two points away at Bees Ice Hockey on Sunday.

Elsewhere, Bristol Pitbulls and Swindon Wildcats lock swords with each other twice this weekend as the Wildcats travel to Bristol on Saturday before hosting the Pitbulls 24 hours later, in what could prove to be two important clashes for both teams as they look to shake off their early season woes.

Raiders Ice Hockey will be looking to distance themselves from the bottom of the table as they welcome Telford Tigers on Saturday before taking on Peterborough Phantoms away from home the following day.

Prior to this, the Phantoms will make the journey northwest to face Sheffield Steeldogs on Saturday evening.
