The National Ice Hockey League is pleased to announce the 2022/23 NIHL Division 2 North champions Hull Jets will be moving up to the NIHL Division 1 North (Moralee Division) for the 2023/24 season.

Replacing the Hull Jets in NIHL 2 North will be the Billingham Buccaneers, who will take to the ice for their inaugural season in September.

Hull Jets Coach Mike Roddy said of the move: “After two successful seasons following the COVID break, we felt now would be the ideal time to move up a division having finished as league champions. The Jets want to be offering a competitive environment for our players to compete week in, week out. We understand the move to the Moralee division will be a big step from the Laidler division; however, it is a challenge we are looking forward to undertaking.”
