EIHA to re-launch Power of Twelve – English Ice Hockey Association

EIHA to Relaunch Power of Twelve

The English Ice Hockey Association is pleased to confirm the relaunch of its Power of Twelve programme — a key initiative aimed at supporting the development of players, coaches and clubs across all levels of the game.

Originally introduced as part of the Association’s long-term strategy for player development, Power of Twelve is designed to create an aligned and consistent approach to performance, education and coaching delivery throughout the English ice hockey system. The refreshed programme will build on the lessons learned from previous seasons and reflect the needs of today’s game.

Through Power of Twelve, the EIHA will work with regional representatives, coaches and clubs to deliver structured development opportunities that focus on skill progression, game understanding and leadership both on and off the ice. The aim is to strengthen the athlete pathway while ensuring inclusivity and accessibility for all participants.

The updated framework will include revised age-group focus points, improved coach mentoring, and enhanced data collection to monitor performance and engagement across the programme. This approach will help ensure that each player receives the right level of support at the right stage of their journey.

EIHA’s commitment to development remains at the heart of everything we do. The relaunch of Power of Twelve represents another important step in creating an environment where every player, regardless of age or ability, can thrive and progress within the sport.

Further details, including regional activation plans and programme timetables, will be shared with clubs and members in the coming weeks.
