WOMEN: weekend round up from EIHA womens leagues 8/9 October

iihf_WGIHW16_fcbk1200x630_PRODOn World Girls Hockey Weekend there were just four domestic matches in the EIHA womens league.

Streatham Storm scored three times in the last 7:11 of their Womens Premier League match to force a 4-4 draw with Milton Keynes Falcons.  Rachel Piotrowski’s hat-trick had put MK 4-1 up by 34:04 and on course for victory.  Storm though scored three times in 1:44 to claim a point.

Icelandic goalie Elise Valmarsdottir saved 49 of 52 shots for Solway Sharks as they tied their Division 1 North Cup match against Telford Wrekin Raiders.  Heather Metcalf scored twice for the Raiders who lead 3-1 at the half way mark.

Division 1 South action saw a double from Ellie Cole and an 18-shot shutout from Phoebe Shavelar lift Solent Amazons to a 4-0 win at Oxford City Midnight Stars.

Finally Bracknell Ice Bees made it two wins from two in the Girls U16 South Division after an 8-0 success at Swindon Top Kittens.  Ellie Wakeling netted three times to lead the scoring for the Ice Bees, who fired 59 shots on the Swindon net.
