The Women’s National Ice Hockey League (WNIHL) season came to an unscheduled end last week, following the EIHA announcement that all hockey was cancelled through May 31 due to the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The WNIHL league management have finalised the standings determining all unplayed games as 0-0 0pts.  The full tables can be seen at www.eiha.co.uk/womens

Following this the teams finishing as league winners are:
Elite League – Solihull Vixens
Premier League – Swindon Topcats
Division 1 North – Widnes Wild Women
Division 1 South – Slough Sirens
U16 North – Sheffield Shadows
U16 South – Swindon Top Kittens

The full sporting impacts of the early season finish including any promotion and relegation is still under consideration by the LMC.

WNIHL league manager Sally Taylor said: “We are grateful for our clubs’ understanding of this unique situation and we are working hard to find a resolution.  Clubs will be informed as soon as any decisions are made.”
