Yes it’s a Saturday morning as we post this, it may be gameday for many out there, but there’s always time for some hockey rules!
Thanks to our friends at IHUK Referee Section we have another set of scenarios to challenge and educate the hockey public.
Today’s trio come from the in-house rules around NIHL play. The document is easily found on the EIHA website if you haven’t got it already. See how you do with these scenarios.
According to EIHA Rules of competition for NIHL 1 and 2 how many skaters are allowed on the ice for overtime?
According to EIHA Rules of competition for NIHL 1 and 2, if there is a penalty on the clock to team A and team B is at full strength at the end of regulation time, what is numerical strength of each team going into overtime and what else should happen?
According to EIHA Rules of competition for NIHL 1 and 2 at the end of overtime and its still tied can a player who is still in the penalty box (serving a penalty) take a penalty shot?
Good luck, we’ll put the answers online after the weekend.
