Structure proposed for U20 League in the UK

Following the meeting of clubs interested in the new under-20 league in the UK, a structure has been proposed for the new format.

The EIHA will run the new under-20s league in England, with full details and clubs to follow shortly.

SIH-UK will continue with their current under-20s league, which has been running for the last two years.

Ice Hockey UK will manage and run an U20 National Champion Finals Weekend to determine the champion under-20 team in the UK.

More details on the complete structure will follow in due course.

IHUK general secretary, Andy French, said: “We have had a number of positive meetings recently, regarding the structure and the under-20 league.

“This is a classic example of the governing bodies and clubs in the UK working together to build a better future for the sport.

“The exact specifics are still to be finalised but I think these are very exciting times for the sport in the UK, especially at a junior level.”
