OFFICIALS: new level 1 courses confirmed ahead of 18/19 season

Ice Hockey UK Referee Section are pleased to confirm the next round of Level 1 courses for new officials looking to join for the 2018/19 season.

Courses are scheduled for Sunday June 24 in Streatham, Saturday August 25 in Romford and Saturday October 6 in Nottingham.  Further courses will be scheduled throughout the 18/19 season in Scotland, Sheffield, Guildford and Cardiff.

The Level 1 course is suitable for people new to the sport completely or they may have some experience in the sport as a player, former player, coach or another capacity.

The minimum age for officials is 15 years old.  Individuals younger than 15 years on the day of the course can attend but will not be eligible to register and be allocated to games until after their 15th birthday.  Attendees must be able to communicate effectively in English – listening, speaking, reading and writing  – and complete the online rules test within a month of attending the course.

Attendees must have a basic level of skating ability and be able to pass the skating test during the course.
