NIHL ROUNDUP in association with British Ice Hockey

The Dynamos lost 3-2 at Solent Devils, but bounced back to win 4-2 at MK Thunder – Adam Rehak’s late empty-netter sealed the points in Milton Keynes.

Streatham IHC are two points behind the Kent outfit with a game in hand after an up-and-down weekend on home ice.

They fell 6-3 to champions Chelmsford Chieftains on Saturday, but recovered to record a 3-2 success against Oxford City Stars the following day.

The Chieftains added another victory to their tally on Sunday with a 10-1 home victory over Bracknell Hornets – Juraj Huska (3) topped their scoring.

Hallden Barnes-Garner hit a hat-trick for MK Thunder in their 6-4 win at Bracknell, while Adian Doughty weighed in with two goals in Solent’s 4-2 success at London Raiders.

Peterborough Islanders secured the D2S (East) regular season title with an 8-3 win at home to Lee Valley Lions. They followed up with a comfortable 7-1 success at Slough Jets.

Nathan Darmanin (2) led the way for Slough in their 5-3 win at Invicta Mustangs.

Cardiff Fire recorded two comprehensive victories, winning 10-1 at home to Wightlink Buccaneers and 6-1 at Basingstoke Buffalo.

Chelmsford Warriors won 5-2 on home ice against Haringey Racers and followed up with 4-2 success in the reverse fixture.

Blackburn Eagles secured promotion from NIHL North Laidler D2 after recording a pair of victories over the weekend.

The Eagles defeated title rivals Widnes Wild 5-4 at Blackburn Arena and followed up with a 5-1 success at Hull Jets – Jordan Ashington (2), Aaron Jordan, Andrew Duxbury and Chris Jones got the goals.

Nathan Britton scored twice for Sheffield Senators in their 4-1 victory at Coventry Blaze NIHL.

Nottingham Lions moved back into a play-off place with a 10-0 win at home to Coventry – Daniel Hazeldine (3) led their scoring.

Solihull Barons edged closer to a place in the Moralee D1 play-offs with a 7-3 home victory over Whitley Warriors – Andrew Whitehouse weighed in with a couple of goals.

Sutton Sting are just a point behind fourth-placed Warriors after picking up three points from their two weekend games.

Joseph Colton, Lloyd Gibson and James Spurr got the goals in Sting’s 3-1 home win against Deeside Dragons, and Spurr followed up with two more in their 3-3 draw at Blackburn Hawks.

Jack Watkins hit a hat-trick for Billingham Stars in their 6-3 home victory over Deeside, while champions Solway Sharks eased to a 4-2 home win against Telford Tigers NIHL.
