Juraj Huska (2), Jake Sylvester and Sean Barry got the goals as the Chieftains secured a 4-3 win in the first leg, and Huska and Sylvester got on the scoresheet again in their 4-2 success in the return game.

The victory completed a double for the Chieftains who already have the D1S regular season title under their belts.

Telford Tigers NIHL boosted their hopes of avoiding relegation from Moralee D1 with an impressive victory at home to Whitley Warriors.

Callum Bowley (3) led the way for the Tigers as they recorded a 7-3 success to edge three points clear of bottom-placed Deeside Dragons.

Blackburn Hawks moved into the play-off places with an 8-5 win at home to Solihull Barons – Jozef Istocy (2) and Lewis Baldwin (2) topped their scoring.

That result completed a miserable weekend for the Barons who also lost 4-1 at Solway Sharks – Daniel Abercrombie weighed in with a couple of goals for the home side.

Michael Bowman scored twice for Billingham Stars in their 5-2 victory at Sutton Sting.

Whitley Warriors completed their Northern Cup fixtures with a 6-1 defeat at home to Solway.

Altrincham Aces had a mixed weekend on the road as they look to secure a place in the Laidler D2 play-offs.

Jake Nurse bagged the winner as the Aces won 3-2 at Blackburn Eagles and they looked to be on course for a second win when they led 5-2 at Widnes Wild the following day. Wild had different ideas and roared back to secure a 7-5 success.
