The group stages of the NIHL Cup competitions are all but completed, and we are about to begin the knockout stages of both the National Cup and Autumn Cup.

In the National Cup, 13 teams were entered into four groups with the top two sides qualifying for quarter finals.

Group A winners Solway Sharks will face the runners up from Group B.  This will be either Sheffield Steeldogs or Peterborough Phantoms.  The second qualifying spot will be determined in the next week or so after which the quarter final dates with Solway will be confirmed.

Group B was won by Hull Pirates and sees them go head to head with Group A runners up Blackburn Hawks.  These two sides play their quarter final tie this coming weekend, on Saturday in Blackburn and on Sunday in Hull.

Group C winners Streatham IHC match up with Group D’s second place side Telford Tigers.  Dates for their quarter final should be confirmed in the very near future.

Finally Group D was won by Swindon Wildcats, and their quarter final opponents are London Raiders who were runners up in Group C. They play over the weekend of 13/14 January, with Swindon taking the Saturday home game and playing at Raiders on the Sunday.

The Autumn Cup is at the semi final stage with top two sides from each of two groups qualifying.

Group 1 winners Basingstoke Bison will play Group 2 runners up Hull Pirates, while the reverse tie is Swindon Wildcats v Peterborough Phantoms.

Swindon are hosting Peterborough on Thursday 11 January, with the second leg at Peterborough on Thursday 18 January.  Dates for the Basingstoke v Hull tie will be confirmed and announced in due course.

All knockout ties are played over two legs and decided by aggregate score.  Overtime and penalty shots will only be played in the second leg if the aggregate score is tied after regulation time.
