NIHL: North playoffs to hold awards ceremony before Finals

March 27, 2017

NIHL North are holding their Playoff Weekend in Sheffield on 8/9 April, and as part of the event there will be the NIHL Radio Awards – the ceremony will take place on the ice at lunchtime on the Sunday before the Laidler Division 2 Final.

Clubs across the NIHL North are being asked to cast votes in the following categories:

  • Player Of The Year (No restriction on position, non-EIHA trained status or appearances)
  • Young Player Of The Year (Must be U20 eligible but does not have to have played at that level)
  • Coach Of The Year

There will also be 1st and 2nd All-Star teams for each division, with the lineups being announced during the Sunday afternoon.

Clubs in NIHL North have been sent their voting forms with each club having three votes to be spread across the club – ie coach, manager and captain.

There will also be an award for NIHL North Club of the Year, with judging criteria for this to include

  • reception and welcome provided by the rink/arena
  • friendliness of the club
  • facilities of the rink
  • opposition fans

The NIHL Radio Awards will be presented on the ice at 12noon on Sunday April 9th.  The Laidler playoff final is at 1.30pm followed by Moralee final at 4.30pm.
