NIHL: four penalties reviewed by discipline panel

The National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) disciplinary panel have reviewed four major penalties from last weekend’s games.

Coventry Blaze player Dale Buckland was penalised with a Match Penalty for slashing during his side’s match with Widnes Wild on 25 February.  He is suspended for one game with five penalty points added to his record.

Elliott Knell of Sheffield Senators also received a Match Penalty for slashing, this in his side’s game with Nottingham Lions on 26 February.  He is suspended for one game with five penalty points added to his record.

Bristol Pitbulls’ Matthew Thornhill was assessed a Match Penalty for roughing late in his team’s game at Cardiff Fire on 26 February.  He is suspended for one game with five penalty points on his record.

Finally, Oxford City Stars Darren Elliott picked up a Match Penalty for Slew-Footing during the NIHL 1S game against Bracknell Hornets on 26 February.  This penalty is still being reviewed by the panel and a decision will be announced in due course.
