NIHL: Discipline updates from weekend 6/7 January

The NIHL discipline panel has issued four suspensions for incidents which arose last weekend.

Haringey Huskies’ Perry Whitlock picked up a match penalty for fighting in Wilkinson S2 game against Basingstoke Buffalo on Saturday 6 January.  He is suspended for two games with five penalty points added to his record.

Jason Stone of Cardiff Fire 2 was assessed two separate match penalties for physical abuse of official in the second period of his side’s Wilkinson S2 game against Peterborough.  For each match penalty he is suspended for five games with five penalty points.  As he has reached the ten point threshold he is suspended for a further two games under points accumulation.  This gives a total suspension of 12 games.

On Sunday 7 January, Altrincham Aces’ John Murray received a match penalty for physical abuse of official in the first period of their Laidler N2 game at Widnes Wild.  He is suspended for three games with five penalty points added to his record.

Finally on Sunday, Dragons’ Ross Kennedy was given a match penalty for kicking in his side’s Moralee N1 game at Nottingham Lions.  He receives a suspension of two games with five penalty points.  This takes his past the ten point threshold so he receives a further two games under points accumulation.  This makes a total suspension of four games.

* The discipline decisions relating to the Invicta Mustangs-Slough Jets game on December 16 are being communicated to the teams today, Friday.  They will be made public in the next 24 hours.
