Sheffield Steeldogs have invited players from this weekend’s JLMC Winter Classic to join them at their NIHL North game versus Blackburn Hawks this evening (face off 7.30pm).

Players from the u13 and u15 Conference sides across the UK are playing on Saturday and Sunday at Ice Sheffield, and the ‘Dogs have generously offered players and team officials a free ticket to the game tonight.  Accompanying adults can purchase a ticket at concession rate (£8).

Sheffield Steeldogs owner Ali Cree said: “When we spoke with Jacqueline Pye about the Winter Classic, we were more than happy to get involved and support the next generation of players.

“The Steeldogs would like to welcome all players and family members from all Conference sides and hope they enjoy the National Ice Hockey League game against Blackburn Hawks.

“We wish all players and teams well in their competition on Saturday and Sunday playing in the Winter Classic.”

JLMC Chair Jacqueline Pye added: “We are grateful to Ali and the Steeldogs for offering our players a ticket to the game.  Hopefully as many players and parents as possible will take up the offer and enjoy NIHL hockey to get the players in the mood for the Winter Classic.

“I hope everyone has a safe travel to Sheffield and good luck to all Conference sides for the event.”

Friday’s NIHL game between Sheffield Steeldogs and Blackburn Hawks at Ice Sheffield is at 7.30pm.  Winter Classic participants and parents can obtain their tickets from the Steeldogs Promotions desk after 6pm this evening.

The JLMC Winter Classic begins at 8am on Saturday morning and runs until approx 1.30pm on Sunday afternoon.  Winter Classic games are available to watch online at
