Tickets for the finale of the NIHL season went on sale on Tuesday morning, and Skydome Arena have reported excellent sales for the showpiece event.

MK Lightning and Swindon Wildcats were first to the phones and website on Tuesday morning, with Telford Tigers, Basingstoke Bison and Leeds Chiefs getting their turn by Wednesday morning.  As we write it’s Sheffield Steeldogs and Hull Pirates up next from 2pm today (Wednesday).

Planet Ice Coventry’s general manager, Chris Carpenter, told us: “We are delighted with the volume of sales that went through yesterday. It looks clear that this is going to be a very busy weekend with a great mixture of fans.

“We’re particularly excited to welcome back Milton Keynes fans after their time away – such a great bunch of fans who set the standard for partying the weekend away in huge numbers. Judging by the number of tickets sold within the first ten minutes it’s clear they’re looking forward to it just as much as we are.

“It’ll also be great to welcome the Leeds Chiefs fans for their first weekend and we can assure them that, whether their team are there or not, it’s a hockey experience not to be missed!”

For Chris and his staff in Coventry, there is a lot of work that goes in to cover all bases for the teams and the fans to make it an enjoyable, successful weekend.

Carpenter continued: “The weekend itself is one of the highlights of our calendar here and we’re now making the final arrangements to ensure everyone has a great time. The Real Ale Bar and Gin Bar are definitely on the agenda after such a good reception last year, while we’re looking at more ways to ensure everyone has a great experience with us across the venue.

“We can’t wait to welcome the fans from across the country once more.”

The Final Four is the last of the #NIHLChampionshipSeries which features a total of five weekend events covering all divisions of the National Ice Hockey League.  Tickets for the Division 1 and 2 Finals – which take place on April 4/5 and 11/12 – go on sale from 10am this Friday (Febraury 14).
