The best u18 teams in the country will converge on Swindon this weekend for the second Rob Laidler Plate weekend.  Hosted at the Link Centre, the top four sides from EIHA U18 leagues north and south will face off in quarter finals on Saturday, followed by semi finals and medal games on Sunday.

And the best part – admission is FREE all weekend for spectators.

JLMC Chair, Jacqueline Pye, said: “We held the playoff weekend for the first time last year in Swindon and it was a great success – the hockey was of a very high standard and the crowd on the Sunday was fantastic.

“This year we’ve added an u11 challenge on Saturday and we are using the time between the semi finals and the medal games on Sunday for an u9 NHL jamboree so the JLMC is getting full value from the available ice time.”

Saturday’s action gets underway at 10.15am with the u11 challenge game.  The first Plate QF is off at 12.30pm between Chelmsford and Telford.  Sheffield play Basingstoke at 2.30pm, Okanagan host Bradford at 4.30pm and finally at 6.30pm it’s Coventry v Guildford.

On Sunday the semi finals are at 10.15am and 12.15pm respectively.  The JLMC U9 NHL Jamboree has the ice from 2pm-4.30pm where one lucky team will win the EIHA Stanley Cup.

The Rob Laidler bronze medal match is at 4.45pm followed by the Rob Laidler Plate Final at 6.45pm.

Good luck to all teams taking part and once again admission for spectators is completely FREE!
