NEWS: Members urged to attend EGM in person this Sunday as Governance vote takes place

June 27, 2018

The Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM) takes place this Sunday in Stratford-upon-Avon, where members of the Association will vote on the proposed way forward in governance reform.

The Governance Working Group published their report at the beginning of June (see this news item) and proposed that there should be one umbrella UK organisation responsible for all aspects of the sport across the UK, and that this should be a new UK organisation and not IHUK.

The report laid out the future pathway following a vote in favour of the resolution.

Members with a vote are encouraged to attend in person and hear directly from the Governance Working Group and ask questions on their report and recommendations before then casting their vote.

The vote on Sunday July 1 is a significant one to give a clear mandate from the members that they want to set in motion the work needed to make an eventual vote to dissolve the EIHA possible in 2019.

Voting members have received full papers for the meeting, which starts at 2pm on Sunday afternoon.
