NEWS: league ruling on two outstanding North 1 fixtures

March 5, 2019

The National League Management Group (NLMG) has ruled on two games in NIHL North 1 which will now not be played.

Telford Tigers v Whitley Warriors was postponed on January 27 after the Warriors’ bus broke down en route to the game.  Telford have offered two alternative weekend dates which have been turned down by Whitley. Under the rules of competition the game is awarded 5-0 to Telford Tigers.

Sheffield Steeldogs v Solihull Barons was originally scheduled for this coming Saturday, March 9.  However the Steeldogs lost the ice slot to a two-day event at Ice Sheffield.  They offered two alternative weekend dates to the Solihull Barons which have been turned down.  Again per the rules of competition the game is awarded 5-0 to Sheffield Steeldogs.

Meanwhile this past weekend in NIHL South 1, Invicta Dynamos travelled to Peterborough Phantoms with seven skaters and one netminder on Sunday. The Dynamos have issued a statement regarding their short bench on their website.  There was no dispensation from the NLMG for the short bench so the game is recorded as a 5-0 to Peterborough.
