Last week Blackburn pulled out of the league and their results have been removed. League officials are looking at a way of creating extra fixtures for the remaining six u20 sides with the initial fixture list set at 1H 1A.
On the ice last weekend there was a full programme on Sunday. Coventry maintained their unbeaten record as they held of a determined Billingham comeback at the Skydome. Coventry were 5-1 up at the second break before Billingham netted three in four third period minutes to pull within a single goal and more than ten minutes remaining. The Blaze held on and sit top of the standings with four wins from four.
Whitley Bay missed out on a chance to move top, going down 0-3 at home to Kingston. Nottingham and Sheffield played out an entertaining 5-5 draw, Jack Parker’s treble they key for Nottingham who levelled just 37 seconds from time.
In the standings, Coventry are top with 8pts from four games. Whitley also have 8pts but from six games. Billingham have 4pts from five games, Nottingham and Sheffield each on 3pts and Kingston in sixth on 2pts.
The next scheduled game is Billingham v Kingston on Sunday, December 17th.
Coventry dominate the scoring charts headed by Austin Mitchell-King who has 10+6=16. Jekabs Bisnieks (5+9=14) is the only other player in double figures. Whitley’s Thomas Brown heads the goalie stats with .952 save percentage, followed by Coventry’s Kyle Evans on .933 and Nottingham’s Myles Dallison on 0.924.
