Hull Pirates, currently third in the English Premier League (EPIHL) will provide the opposition for Great Britain’s Under 20 squad this Wednesday at Hull Arena (face off 7.30pm).
The Great Britain side are preparing for their World Championship tournament in Hungary in December and the game will be one of the final parts of their training camp this week before coach Tom Watkins names his final World Championship squad.
Hull Pirates coach Dominic Osman said: “When Tom Watkins called with the opportunity to play the under-20s, we jumped at the chance as we want to help out the GB programme as much as possible.
“It will also be a good skate for us as a team before a big weekend. We have two players who will be icing for GB so it will be a good chance for us to look at them from the opposing side.
“We appreciate the opportunity to help out and look forward to the night.”
GB head coach Tom Watkins added: “I would like to thank Hull Pirates for enabling this to happen.
“This is a vital camp in our preparations for December’s World Championship.
“It is only a month away from the tournament and it is important we get the squad together. The game against Hull will be very useful as we can get the players into match situations.”
