The English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) is currently seeking to recruit strategic leaders who will be able to work with the Board in the interest of members to support the development of ice hockey in England. The role is to provide independent, unbiased advice to stakeholders that reflect the views of our members, to promote greater levels of participation in and awareness of our sport, providing a high-quality service to our members.

Our membership covers a broad spectrum of participants including juniors, seniors, universities and recreational players in addition to supporting the development of our sport through educational programmes for our volunteers.

We are looking to appoint at least one independent director and are inviting applications to be considered by the Board. We need individuals with strong leadership skills who can continue to develop and influence the strategic focus and direct the organisation towards its future. You would need to be able to make a commitment to the EIHA and devote the necessary time, have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind.

Ice hockey in the UK is currently undergoing a governance review which is looking to provide a new governing body for sport across the UK and the role will need to support the view of members in this transitional period.

We are looking for candidates who have skills in one or more of the following areas:
· Finance
· Legal
· Communications and Marketing

And, bring experience from one of the following sectors:
· Private sector
· Public sector
· Voluntary Sector

We will pay Directors travel expenses and provide a full induction to the organisation’s work. You will be expected to attend at least six Board meetings a year, which are normally held centrally in the country. In addition, we would encourage your attendance at a number of associated meetings/activities and events.
