The NIHL and BASN are pleased to announce that the North 2 (Laidler) Finals weekend at Widnes will be covered by BASN’s hockey show ‘Drop The Puck’.

Planet Ice Widnes hosts the semi finals and finals over the weekend of April 14 and 15 with the top four sides from the league battling for the playoff crown.

BASN Executive Producer and Editor Pete Sheffield said: “It’s a great opportunity for us to continue promoting the sport via our successful Drop The Puck TV show.

“The programme is in its fourth season broadcasting NIHL ice hockey on national TV via Sky, Virgin and Freeview on the Made TV network of channels as well as our own YouTube channel.

“Being part of the North 2 playoff weekend will be a busy but hopefully exciting weekend of great hockey.  We look forward to two action packed days of NIHL action involving the best four sides in the Laidler division.”

Fellow BASN Executive Producer and Presenter Gary ‘Chopper’ Lee added: “Thanks to the valued co-operation of all teams and players involved, we have managed to take NIHL Moralee and Laidler ice hockey into millions of homes over the past four years and hopefully with that brought more fans to the sport.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank in advance Matt Lloyd and the staff at Planet Ice Widnes for their great hospitality.  It promises to be a great weekend.”

Broadcast details for the Laidler Playoff action will be confirmed as soon as it is known.
