NEWS: Discipline updates from NIHL and Womens leagues

March 9, 2017

EIHA discipline panels for National Ice Hockey League (NIHL) and the Womens leagues have issued four new suspensions following incidents last weekend.

In NIHL South, Slough Jets player Jeremy Woolfe received a Match Penalty for an obscene gesture during his side’s game at Invicta Dynamos on March 4.  He is suspended for one game and has five penalty points added to his record.

Jake Pitchley of London Raiders was assessed a 10′ misconduct penalty at the conclusion of his team’s game with Solent Devils on March 5.  This takes his penalty points to the 10-point threshold and under the totting up procedures he is suspended for two games.

Last week we reported that Darren Elliott of Oxford City Stars was given a Match Penalty for slew-footing with the tariff of suspension to be determined.  The panel have confirmed that the player is suspended for three matches and has five penalty points added to his record.

In the Womens Premier League, Slough Phantoms Paige Parker picked up a Match Penalty for bodychecking on March 4 v Chelmsford Cobras.  She is suspended for two games and has five points added to her record.

Finally, in Womens Division 1 Cup Ruth Wallace of Solway Sharks received a Match Penalty for roughing (one punch) versus Whitley Squaws on March 4.  She is suspended for one game and has five points added to her record.
