Mitchell-King commits to Phantoms
Peterborough Phantoms have announced the return of forward Austin Mitchell-King ahead of the new season.
The 21-year-old joined head coach Slava Koulikov’s roster last season, putting up 32 points in 48 games, with 15 goals and 17 assists.
Mitchell-King will join the Phantoms for his second season in 2023/24, having previously played for both Coventry Blaze and Telford Tigers.
“I’m excited to be back in Peterborough for another season,” he said.
“I loved every second of it last year on and off the ice which made it an easy decision to be back again. Slava is a very dedicated coaching I have learnt a lot from him. I’m looking forward to putting on the Phantoms jersey again in September.”
Head Coach Slava Koulikov said: “Austin became a really important part of the team last season and we are really happy to have him back with Phantoms again.
“There are so many good qualities to his game but most important, Austin is an unselfish player who puts his team-mates first.
“Mentally, he is way above his age, not many players at the age of 21 get trusted in important situations of big games. To win you need good players, but to achieve high goals, you need mentally strong players. In Austin, we have both!”
