Lift-off for Summer Jamborees in Chelmsford

The EIHA is pleased to confirm a series of summer jamborees in Chelmsford designed to give young players more ice time, fun competition and a positive development environment during the off-season. The events bring together mixed-ability squads across multiple age groups with a focus on participation, game awareness and enjoyment.

Each jamboree day features short, continuous-clock games, fair bench time for all skaters and on-ice guidance from qualified coaches. Off the ice, parents and team managers receive clear schedules and check-in information to keep the day running smoothly. The format is deliberately simple so that the emphasis remains on safe play, good habits and learning by doing.

Clubs and independent players based in and around Essex are welcome to enter. Squads will be balanced on the day to support competitive parity and to ensure that newer players feel just as involved as their more experienced peers. Goalies will rotate frequently so they see plenty of action, with coach feedback provided between games.

Entry fees are set to cover ice time and essential staffing only. Where possible we will align dates to avoid clashes with regular club sessions, allowing families to plan around holidays. Final joining instructions, timings and any last-minute updates will be sent directly to registered team contacts ahead of the event.

Players should arrive in good time for registration and a short safety briefing before warm-up. Full protective equipment is mandatory for all participants and we encourage teams to bring a light and a dark jersey set to avoid colour clashes. Basic first aid and skate-sharpening services will be available on site.

If your club or a group of friends wishes to enter together, please nominate a single contact to coordinate numbers and payments. Individual entries are also welcome and will be placed into appropriate squads on arrival. Spectators are encouraged to come along and support in the right spirit.

Questions about eligibility, volunteering or officiating can be sent to the local organisers, who will publish confirmed dates and age-group windows once ice allocations are fully finalised.

For expressions of interest and to receive the full briefing pack, please contact the event team via the EIHA office.
