JLMC: “Hockey Fest Swindon” next weekend!

The Junior League Management Committee (JLMC) are delighted to announce details of an event being held in Swindon, home of the Swindon Wildcats, Swindon Topcats and OHA UK.

“Hockey Fest Swindon” will take place on Saturday 30th and Sunday 31st July 2016 – THAT’S NEXT WEEK-END!
On Saturday there will be a modified “In-House League” event, open to any EIHA player who will be playing at U13, U15 or U18 next season.

The idea is that players register using the event on JLMC TeamApp.

On Sunday there will be a combined U9 & U11 NHL Tournament with the Stanley Cup being presented to the winning team. Once again this event is open to any EIHA player who will be playing at U9 or U11 next season.

Players can register using the event on JLMC TeamApp.

With six hours of ice time available on both days, the plan is to run a series of games based on Swindon’s successful In House League model on the Saturday and to run a Tournament based on Sutton’s successful Little League model on Sunday. It is hoped that we can provide players and staff from other Clubs the chance to see if the In-House League and Little League formats could work for them at their clubs.

JLMC Chair, Jacqueline Pye has been watching the Swindon and Sutton programmes develop over the past 12 months and she is very keen to see what other coaches and club staff think as a way of creating more opportunity for competitive games for all of the EIHA’s age group kids.

Plans have been made for a multiple age group event for 2016/17 U9, U11, U13, U15 & U18 players.  Players are being invited from all of the EIHA’s conferences and players can join-in either as individuals or as part of a club team.

Registration opens at 11:00am and the first matches start at 12 Noon on both days.

The games will be played on the buzzer and teams will be aligned so that players are playing as competitively as the participants will allow.

There’s a nominal fee of £10 per player and players for U13, U15 & U18 should bring a light and a dark shirt as the organisers are trying to avoid shirt clashes as far as possible. Shirts will be provided for players U9 & U11.
