JLMC: ‘Hockey Family’ supports #Conference17 and Jack O’Donnell Foundation

May 25, 2017

The centrepiece of this weekend’s fundraising at Conference Weekend is the Grand Raffle, with proceeds going to our nominated charity The Jack O’Donnell Foundation.

JLMC and Conference officials have been overwhelmed by the support of the ‘Hockey Family’ in donating prizes to the raffle and we are delighted to share some of the highlights.

Our top prize has been kindly donated by Sheffield Steelers, the 2017 Elite League playoff champions.  Our winners will watch a game at Sheffield Arena from a VIP Suite for up to 12 people, they will have a pre-game tour of the Steelers locker room and go behind the scenes at Sheffield Arena.  They will also be invited to the Steelers VIP Room and enjoy the game with the best seats in the house with VIP treatment.

With a value well in excess of £400 this is an amazing prize and worth your raffle ticket monies alone!

But there’s more!  David Clarke and his hockey clinics Clarke & Co have donated a place at one of their Nottingham clinics to our second prize winner.  Clarke & Co run a variety of clinics for all ages and abilities and our winner will have a fantastic time with top coaches.  David Clarke is a GB international and a long-time supporter of the Conference Tournament so we are grateful for this donation.

We have also received donations from across the Hockey Family.  Nottingham Panthers and Braehead Clan are running auctions of unique memorabilia and donating the proceeds to us.

There are also prizes from Bauer, CCM, Warrior, Mowbray Sports, Ice Hockey UK, Tony Hand, Blue Line Hockey, Sixty Thirty Sports, Puck Stop and more.

JLMC Chair Jacqueline Pye said: “The main part of the weekend is of course the action on the ice, but in recent years the charity angle has increased.  This year with the charity being so close to junior hockey and conference it’s bigger than ever.

“I and the JLMC are overwhelmed with the support we’ve had and the donations we have received – to all clubs and organisations a huge thank you.  The donations will help us raise an incredible amount for the Jack O’Donnell Foundation and the work that they do.”

The weekend begins on Friday night with the Orange Friday promotion – dress code ORANGE! – featuring the Mighty Mites u8s and England v Scotland u19s.  The Conference action gets underway first thing Saturday morning and runs until Monday evening.

Raffle tickets are available from the event stand on the concourse and from sellers around Ice Sheffield.  Tickets are £1 for 1, £5 for 10 or £10 for 25 tickets.
