The final event in the U11 Conference Series takes place this Saturday at Ice Sheffield.
This is the third U11 event of the season and, alongside the Winter Classic which featured u13 and u15, gives the players in the Conference squads additional games against high quality opposition before the main InterConference Tournament in May.
After a full round robin there will be two semi finals and a Grand Final to crown the Conference Series champion.
The full schedule of games – all on Bauer Arena at Ice Sheffield – is as follows:
0700 Midands v North
0805 South West v South East
0920 South West v Midlands
1025 North v South East
1140 North v South West
1245 South East v Midlands
1400 SF1: 2nd v 3rd
1505 SF2: 1st v 4th
1620 Grand Final
All games are 3×15 minute periods, running time except for the final two minutes of the third period. Round robin games are 2pts for a win, 1pt for a draw.
Once the action concludes at the Conference Series, we are grateful to Elite League side Sheffield Steelers for extending an offer to our conference players to watch their match at FlyDSA Arena versus Coventry Blaze on Saturday evening. Players can watch for free, with ticket offer for siblings and parents too. Each conference manager should have co-ordinated the ticket requests for their team.
Event organiser Martin Peters said: “We are looking forward to another competitive day for the Conference sides. The chance to play in best-on-best games can only aid the players’ development as they start out on the Conference journey.
“The players can then have a chance to see where their sport can take them by watching the Elite League game on Saturday evening. Thanks to the management at Sheffield Steelers for making our players and parents welcome and we hope everyone who takes up the offer enjoys their night watching the top level of hockey in the UK.”
Those heading to the event on Saturday are advised that there is an athletics event at the English Institute of Sport across the road from Ice Sheffield so traffic and car parks are liable to be very busy around the venues.
