GB U20: Hartmann appointed as assistant coach

November 8, 2018

Richard Hartmann has been appointed as an assistant coach of Great Britain Under-20s.

Hartmann, who celebrated his 43rd birthday yesterday, replaces Martin Grubb who was named as head coach of GB U18s in August.

The Slovakian-born forward, currently with Murrayfield Racers, completes the under-20s coaching staff and will work alongside head coach Slava Koulikov of Peterborough Phantoms and fellow assistant Aaron Nell of Swindon Wildcats.

Hartmann said: “I am really proud to have this opportunity to work with Great Britain.

“Having been in this country since 2011, I am very passionate about the national team and I am looking forward to working with Slava and Aaron.

“There are some fantastic young prospects in the Great Britain programme at the moment and I am excited to be part of the national team.”

National development head coach, Tony Hand, said: “Richard has a lot of experience, both as a player and coach.

“We think he will be a great fit for the existing coaching team and he will be able to use that experience to good effect.

“It is a big year for our junior sides this year and I think we have a great coaching line-up across the board to take us forward.”
