Great Britain’s u18 women head to Granada this week for a Four Team International tournament hosted by the Spanish federation.

GB will face the hosts Spain as well as Hungary and Poland.  The games will take place on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Igloo Granada Ice Arena.

Head coach Cheryl Smith says the trip a great learning curve for her squad, who are building towards their World Championship Division 1B event in Poland in January.

Smith said: “We have a young side going out to Granada and they will take a lot out of the tournament. The standard of the opposition will be good and we can expect some tough games.

“With the World Championship around the corner, it will be important for players and coaches. We can work on game situations and get the players used to playing with something at stake.

“Some of the squad have been in the situation before but to others it will be quite new to them. We are looking forward to the trip and it is a massive part of our World Championship preparations.”

GB face Hungary on Friday 10th, play Poland on Saturday 11th before concluding the action against Spain on Sunday 12th.
