EIHA Young Leaders Award Workshop

Workshop Summary

 

This workshop is for EIHA registered players aged between 14 and 16 years old that want to learn about the coaching process and would like to help the qualified coaches.

Attendees will be equipped with the knowledge and understanding to be able to successfully help the qualified coaches to deliver effective practice sessions.

 

Delivery Method

3 hours – classroom theory and practical activities

followed by 6 hours practical experience in your club, working alongside a Level 2 coach

 

Candidates will be taking part in individual and group activities during the workshop

Notebook and pen are required

 

 

Course Prerequisites

 

Attendees must have a good working knowledge of the sport, the rules and the terminology of the game of Ice Hockey and will ideally have experience of playing ice hockey.

 

Attendees must be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension) The course will be taught in English and course materials are in English

Number of Participants

 

A minimum of 8 and a maximum of 20

Outcomes

 

By the end of the course, attendees will be better equipped to:

· Understand how coaches work

· Understand how they can contribute and help the coaches and players
