All participants who wish to register as Manager (BM) will be expected to undertake the following courses:


1. Certified Emergency First Aid Course (Details in Appendix B of the Coaching Protocols)


2. UK Coaching Safeguarding & Protecting Children Workshop (Details in Appendix C of the Coaching Protocols)


3. This does not preclude the attendee from registering on completion as a Level 1 Manager


FOR ATTENDANCE ON THIS COURSE THE ABOVE CAN BE COMPLETED BEFORE OR AFTER ATTENDANCE ON THE COURSE BUT PRIOR TO REGISTRATION AS PRODUCTION OF THE CERTIFICATES WILL BE A REQUIREMENT.

COURSE CONTENTS


 


ROLE OF THE MANAGER       “The Manager as a Leader” – how to be an appropriate role model with emphasis on being a positive example


“The Manager as an Organiser” – dealing effectively with parents, organising game day, liaison with players, parents, officials, away travel


 


SAFETY & SAFEGAURDING   Risk assessments, emergency plans & safe guarding issues and risks


 


ADMINISTRATION                           Paper work;  game sheets – filling in and where they go, registration forms, transfer forms, player cards, coaching/manager qualifications and cards, code of ethics forms


 


COMMUNICATION                           Principles of effective communication:  how to be a good listener, acting as a go between, helping establish good discipline, non verbal communication


 


ORGANISING A GAME                  How to effectively organise games including friendlies, internationals, developing and maintaining contact list, dealing with referees, time keepers, goal judges, Man of the Match awards etc


 


BENCH MANAGEMENT               Helping to provide a proper and safe environment on the bench for players if the coach is removed due to a discipline issue.
