All participants must wear an approved Ice hockey helmet for the on ice session.
Please ensure that your course has been paid for prior to course date.
The cost of the course is £115.00 per person
If payment has not been made and processed before the course start date the candidate will be refused entry.
COURSE DATES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE AND CANCELLATION & THE EIHA WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY COSTS INCURRED
You must be 16 or over on the first day of the course, able to skate in accordance with the attached criteria and demonstrate this during the on-ice session to participate in this Level 1 Coaching Course. Attendance at ALL sessions is compulsory.
Please remember to bring skates, gloves, and hockey stick for the on ice session. Please bring a notepad and pencil/pen. Lunch is not provided.

If you are unable to attend for any reason please let me know as soon as possible, as we have a waiting list. Failure to do so will result in full/or part payment being forfeited, as follows:
Non-attendance without notice – full fee
Cancellation with less than 1 week’s notice – no charge if place is filled otherwise 75% of course fee
Cancellation with a minimum of one week’s notice – no charge if place is filled, otherwise 50% of course fee.
MINIMUM SKATING PROFICIENCY TO ATTEND COURSE
To attend, and pass an EIHA coaching course coaches must be able to demonstrate and execute the following skills on ice with proficiency and under control:1. Skate forward
2. Carry out tight turn in both directions
3. Stop moving in all directions
4. Skate backwards
5. Crossover efficiently forwards and backwards
6. Pivot forwards to backwards and backwards to forward
7. Stop on both feet forward & backward
8. Must show a good understanding of the mechanics of shooting
9. Must be able to demonstrate stick handling and passing and pass receiving elements to a competent standard
10. Demonstrate an understanding of teaching techniques as applied in teaching progressions (Whole part whole)
Note: Should you not be able to demonstrate the above during the course due to injury or illness you must notify us before attending the course. Should your condition be of a temporary nature you may at our discretion be assessed separately. The assessment will be carried out at a location as designated by the Association. The full cost of the assessment will be the responsibility of the candidate and payment will be required in advance. Qualification will not be issued until such time as assessments have been completed.
