All participants must wear an approved Ice hockey helmet for the on ice session.
Players under the age of 18 must also wear a full face cage.
Attendance at ALL sessions is compulsory.
Attendees must be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension).
Coaching Course Prerequisites
Before attending the course, learners must complete the Sports Coach UK e-learning module:
– Inspiring Positive Behaviour in Sport (go to: sportscoachuk.coachwisehub.com/store)
Certificates must be taken with you to the EIHA Coaching Course as evidence of completion
– be at least 16 on the first day of the course
– be competent skaters
– be able to communicate effectively in English (this includes listening, speaking, reading, writing and comprehension)
– have a good working knowledge of the sport, the rules and the terminology of the game of Ice Hockey
– have access to a practical ice hockey coaching environment for the duration of the course

Attendees should have a good working knowledge of the sport, the rules and the terminology of the game of Ice Hockey.
You must be 16 on the first day of a Level 1 course and 18 on the first day of a Level 2 course.
To participate in this Coaching Course you must be able to skate in accordance with the attached criteria and demonstrate this during the on-ice session.
Please remember to bring skates, gloves, helmet and hockey stick for the on ice session. Please bring a notepad and pen.
Tea/Coffee will be provided at the start of each day, and a Discount is available at the venue café for drinks. Lunch is not provided.
Attendees are not permitted to consume alcohol before or while attending a course or workshop. The Instructor will ask the delegate to leave if they are found doing so.
The cost of the course is £135.00 per person
Please ensure that your course has been paid for prior to course date.
If payment has not been made and processed before the course start date the candidate will be refused entry.
If you are unable to attend for any reason please let me know as soon as possible, as we have a waiting list. Failure to do so will result in full/or part payment being forfeited, as follows:
Non-attendance without notice – full fee
Cancellation with less than 1 week’s notice – no charge if place is filled otherwise 75% of course fee
Cancellation with a minimum of one week’s notice – no charge if place is filled, otherwise 50% of course fee.
Minimum Ice Hockey Skill Requirements
Attendees will ideally have experience of playing ice hockey. Attendees must be able to demonstrate skating, stick handling, shooting, passing and pass receiving elements to a competent standard.
• Skate forward / Skate backwards
• Stop moving in all directions / Stop on both feet forward & backward
• Carry out tight turn in both directions / Crossover efficiently forwards and backwards
• Pivot forwards to backwards and backwards to forward
Note: should you not be able to demonstrate the above during the course due to injury or illness you must notify us before attending the course. Should your condition be of a temporary nature you may at our discretion be assessed
separately. The assessment will be carried out at a location as designated by the Association. The full cost of the assessment will be the responsibility of the candidate and payment will be required in advance. Qualification will not be issued until such time as assessments have been completed.
