The traditional showpiece of the English Premier Ice Hockey League (EPIHL) season takes place this coming weekend in Coventry as the Playoff Weekend takes place.

After a two-week playoff campaign featuring the top eight sides from the regular season, we now have our Final Four – Guildford Flames and Telford Tigers from Group A along with Basingstoke Bison and Milton Keynes Lightning from Group B.

Guildford picked up 11 of the 12 points possible, just a single overtime loss against Telford spoiling a perfect record.  The Tigers, League champions, won four games – losing to Guildford and Peterborough.

Basingstoke Bison and Milton Keynes Lightning both won five of their six games, the respective losses against each other.  The head to head record in playoffs was level so the Bison snatched top spot on goal difference across the group, +15 to +13.

In the semi finals at Coventry, the doors open at 12noon with first semi final being Guildford Flames v Milton Keynes Lightning at 1pm.  Basingstoke Bison take on Telford Tigers in the second semi final at 5pm.

On Sunday, early doors open at 11.30 with the EIHA U20 Championship game at 12.15 featuring Coventry Blaze and Kingston Sharks.  The EPIHL Playoff Final goes off at 4.00pm.

There are fewer than 300 tickets remaining for the weekend, an adult weekend pass is £55 with £35 for u16s.  Any supporters wishing to buy tickets should contact the Planet Ice Coventry box office by telephone on 02476 630693, option 0.
