England IHAThe England National Team Programme (ENTP) begins the 2019/20 season this weekend, with head coach Ben Pitchley naming seven additions to the coaching staff supporting the athletes on the ice.

ENTP management were asked in the summer to restructure the programme and add to the coaching staff already in place.  The latest intake of players to the ENTP will take to the ice this weekend with two full days planned.  Ice Sheffield will be host to the u14 boys, u15 boys and the JLMC Power of 10 and Power of 11 events, while the Viola Arena in Cardiff welcomes the u13 boys, u13 girls and u16 girls.

We are delighted to welcome Claire Fay, Mo Muir and Kerry Dunn to the coaching staff supporting the girls teams.  These additions bring a new depth to the existing staff and reinforces the investment that the ENTP has made in women’s and girl’s ice hockey.

Joining the coaching staff supporting the boys teams are Gareth Endicott, Martin White, Adam Reynolds and Rob Lamey.  With a wealth of experience and many years of coaching and playing, the new coaches add impetus to the programme starting this weekend.

ENTP general manager Chris Benson said: “We are excited and enthusiastic for the upcoming season building up to our end of year tournaments.

“This weekend the newly appointed coaching staff will be bringing their added experience to ENTP and will put the players through their paces and help select the final squads.

“As a programme we are tasked with getting our players ready for the Great Britain programme and the new coaches bring an added dimension and depth of hockey knowledge to an already talented, passionate coaching team.

“We look forward to seeing everyone bright and early Saturday morning and wish all players the very best as they begin another season with the England programme.”
