Thursday sees the start of a long weekend’s hockey for the England girls team.
The team flies out early Friday morning to Helsinki and then travels by coach to Piispalla in central Finland where they will take part in a weekend tournament.
They will take to the ice on Saturday morning to play their first game against S-Kiekko/Kronan Hermes.
Saturday afternoon sees them play KJT.
Sundays opponents in the morning are TPS and the afternoon Kettera SaiPa
Our hosts have arranged a number of activities during the day and we are sure that the girls will get a chance to experience a true authentic Finnish Sauna followed by the traditional swim in a lake….December, Finland good luck!
Monday will see the long journey home with the team scheduled to arrive at Heathrow in the early evening.
Head coach Tim Healand said
‘This is a great opportunity to play International hockey against some of the worlds best players at this age group.
It gives the players a chance to evaluate themselves and the staff a chance to experience other hockey cultures.’
