England u19 head coach Ryan Aldridge is relishing the challenge of going up against Scotland in the Frank Dempster Bowl to kick off the annual EIHA Conference weekend in Sheffield.

Aldridge has named his squad for the game, which takes place on Friday April 29 (8pm), and says the amount of talent on show makes the game and weekend a fantastic showcase.

“I think that Conference is a great weekend to showcase our young talent from all across the UK in such a wide range of ages,” he said.

“The England-Scotland game is also a great chance for pro and semi pro teams to watch what talent is out there that may be off their radar.  You don’t realise how much talent we have at this age group till you sit down and go through the guys we have available to choose from plus the ones playing in the conference and playing overseas.”

Aldridge’s squad is packed with EPL and NIHL experience as well as players who have represented Great Britain at u20 and u18 World Championships this season.

“I feel we have a strong team this year, we have guys with speed and skill and the coaches will be looking for these guys to display their skills on the night.

“I like players that play fast, hard and unselfish hockey in all areas and I think we have that in this line up.
